Founders

Of Affinity is a Los Angeles–based studio founded by Caitlin Lennon and Julia Holladay, sisters-in-law, partners in the truest sense.

Our name reflects that bond, and a shared, lifelong commitment to art and to how creative legacies are preserved. We draw on experience across artist studios, galleries, and academic institutions, and bring the discernment that experience builds to every collection and engagement we take on.

Our approach

Our approach is grounded in archival methodology, research, and careful observation. We develop systems that clarify relationships among works, materials, and documentation while respecting the unique context of each collection or creative practice.

We tailor each engagement to the needs of the client and the long-term continuity of the archive, collection, or practice. Our goal is not only preservation, but the creation of structures that keep collections visible to their owners, legible in their records, and cared for over time.

Our work

Creative work accumulates meaning over time through its relationships to objects, records, and context. Our engagements have spanned artists' estates, private collections, and institutional archives. Each one distinct, each one requiring its own approach.

What unites us is a shared commitment: every archive or collection should be left more accessible and in better shape than we found it. The systems we build are designed to last well beyond our own involvement.

Our work is often sensitive in nature. We approach it with discretion, care, and a deep respect for the trust our clients place in us.
